Jeanne Louise Witbracht, 91 of Vandalia, IL Jeanne Louise Witbracht, 91 of Vandalia, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:30 AM, Sunday, December 18, 2011, in Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care. Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM on Wednesday, 12/21/11 at Miller Funeral Home, in Vandalia, IL and 1 hour before service on Thursday, 12/22/11, at the church. The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, 12/22/11 at the First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, IL. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL. Dr. Roger Grimmett will be officiating. Memorials are requested to the First United Methodist Church Music Department in Vandalia, IL or Donor's Choice. Jeanne was born October 16, 1920 in St. Louis MO, the daughter of Waldemar and Fay Stevens (Francis) Froeschle. She married Ivan L. Witbracht on July 6, 1946. They recently celebrated their 65th anniversary. She was a graduate of Hickey Business College, St. Louis, MO. Jeanne was a devoted and loving mother of four children, a well respected member of St. Elmo and Vandalia Communities. In St. Elmo, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a Sunday School teacher. She also worked with the Cub Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. While overseas with her family in Captieux, France, she assisted in the US Army Post Chapel and Boy and Girl Scout programs. After returning to Vandalia, IL, she became a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vandalia, a charter member of Operation Outing, co-director of Evergreen Outreach program and was very active and instrumental in the Meals on Wheels program. Surviving are her husband, Ivan of Vandalia, IL; daughters, Barbara McCart & Bob of Vandalia, IL; Lynn O'Hara & David of Colleyville, TX; Sue Miller & Eric of Shobonier, IL; son, I. Lee Witbracht & Valerie of Madison, AL; 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Dorothy (Froeschle) Bruce.
