James "Jim" W. Wood, 80, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016, in Vandalia, IL.

Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL with Dr. Ben Foxworth, officiating . Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Fayette County Hospice and/or Bethel Baptist Church.

He was born July 23, 1936, in Nevada, MO, the son of Other Edwin & Wilma Alfonso (Leach) Wood. Married Nancy Kay Crick on March 9, 1962, Independence, MO. He was Owner/Operator of Jim's Welding, Versailles, MO.; a US Navy Veteran; Boy Scout Master for 27 years, receiving a National Camping Award; and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL.

He is survived by: Wife - Nancy Wood, Vandalia, IL; Son - James "Jim" Wood, III, Mesa, AZ; Daughter - Wendy Morgason & Mike, Vandalia, IL; 8 Grandchildren; Jaye - Josh - Daylin - Brandon - Garett - Stephanie - Dalan - Jesse and 11 Great Grandchildren; Aiden - Paisley - Braylon - Barron - Ethan - Shylin - Maddox - Braelynn - Lexi - Audrina - D.J.

Preceded in death by: Parents; 1 Brother - Jerry; and 1 Sister - Sarah.
