He was born April 29, 1964, in Vandalia, IL, the son of John & Erma Viola (Browning) Smith. He worked in maintenance at McDonald's in Vandalia, IL for 27 years. Jim was a member of First Church of God, Vandalia, IL.

He is survived by: 1 Brother - David Smith; 2 Sisters - Cora Ruppe & George and Joyce Helton all of Vandalia, IL; Several Nephews & Nieces.

Preceded in death by: His Parents and Half-Sister - Linda England.
