Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Chaplain Joe Chetta officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Vandalia, IL., with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM Sunday, October 21, 2012, 1 hour before the service, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. He was born on October 02, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, IL, the son of Ralph Indianola Hicks and Doris Awanda (Long) Hicks Petro. He married Sandra Kay Jewett. Jackie was a retired guard for Joliet State Prison and a Marines,Navy and Army National Gaurd Veteran. He is survived by wife, Sandra Hicks of St. George, UT; Sons, Tom & David Hicks, Joliet, IL; Daughters: Doris Mae Hicks, St. George, UT and Linda Bovard, Joliet, IL.; 3 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grand Child; Brothers: Roy, Rex & Larry Hicks, Clayton, IL; Sisters: Donelle Conaway & Gene, Vandalia, IL and Becky Stroud, Mesquite, NV. Preceded in death by parents.
