Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, Saturday, October 18, 2014, prior to the service, at the church. Memorials: St. James Lutheran Church and/or Fayette County Hospital - Long Term Care, Vandalia, IL. He was born June 12, 1929, in Altamont, IL, the son of George & Hilda L. (Goers) Grobengieser. Married Sandra K. Waddell February 20, 1960 in Vandalia, IL. Gordon was a retired Electrician at ExxonMobil & a Member of St. James Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL. He is survived by: Wife - Sandra, Vandalia, IL; Son - Tim Grobengieser, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Christy Hamilton & Gary, Ballwin, MO, and Stacy Burgener & David, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Ashley, Katelyn, Alexandria & Peyton; Great Grandchildren - Reagan & Zander.
