Glen Wayne "Whitey" Daniels, 87, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at his home in Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL with Rev. Curtis Flake officiating. Inurnment will be in the First United Methodist Church Columbarium. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Saturday, August 10, 2024, the church. Masonic Rites will be held at 11:00 AM. Memorials: First United Methodist Church Coats & Shoes and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. He was born November 7, 1936, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Glen Carl & Minnie (Lawler) Daniels. He married Carolyn J. Horsley on August 11, 1956, in Vandalia, IL. He worked in construction for 30 years and was a member of Operating Engineers Union Local #520 in Swansea, IL. He served his country in the United States Army; was a member of Vandalia Lions Club, Temperance Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M. in Vandalia, Ainad Temple Shrine in East St. Louis, Old National Trail Shrine Club in Vandalia, and he served 20 years as a Fayette County Board Member. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vandalia and served on many committees through the church.

He is survived by: Wife - Carolyn Daniels, Vandalia, IL; Son - Jeff Daniels, Vero Beach, FL; Daughter - Kim Warner & Bill, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Alyssa Sanders & Chris, Vandalia, IL, Seth Henry & Diana, Troy, IL, Jeffrey Daniels, Boston, MA, and Greg Daniels & Sierra, Vero Beach, FL; Great Grandchildren - Kaitlyn and Preston Sanders, Glen and Cooper Henry, Olivia and Jordan Daniels.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Brother - Harry Daniels; Sisters - Margaret Dieckman and Rosemary Barth.
