Gerald A. Zimmer, 95, of Brownstown, Illinois, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Brownstown, IL.

Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Wes Bell, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2017, before the service at the funeral home. Memorials: Fayette County Health Dept. Hospice, Vandalia, IL.

He was born in 1921, in Wilberton Twp., IL, the son of Charles Elmer & Emma Permelia (Jarrett) Zimmer. Married Farold L. Whitehead in 1946, she passed away in 1974. In 1978, he married Reibert (Kirkman) Zimmer. He was a retired Farmer and Member of Four Mile Christian Church, Rural Brownstown, IL.

He is survived by: Wife - Reibert Zimmer, Brownstown, IL; Son - Jerry Zimmer & Linda, Knoxville, IA; Daughter - Kay Marshall & Tim, Flower Mound, TX;
Daughter-in-law - Linda Zimmer, Lake Villa, IL; 5 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren, Several Nephews.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Son - Kevin Zimmer; Brother - Harold Zimmer; Sister - Lorene Hagy.
