Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 03, 2012, at Temple Baptist Church in Vandalia, IL with the Rev. Loren File officiating. Burial will follow at Green-Hill Cemetery, in Rural Fillmore, IL. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 02, 2012 and 1 hour before service at Temple Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL. He was born December 17, 1925, in Brownstown, IL, the son of Vern and Esther Estella (Elam) Largent. He married Dorothy Bernadine Stokes January 14, 1945 in Shafter, IL. Gerald was a Retired Farmer and Retired Maintenance Employee of Crane Packing, Vandalia, IL. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Mulberry Grove and affiliated with Temple Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL He is survived by: Wife: Dorothy Largent of Vandalia, IL, Two Sons: Gerald A. Largent & Vicky and Steve Largent & Jan, both of Vandalia, IL. Special Nephew, Darrell Stokes & Shirley of Ramsey, IL ,Two Sisters: Geraldine Hipsher, Brownstown, IL, Norma Jean Pulst & Russ, Chillicothe, IL. Four Grandchildren: Amy, Jake, Sara and Tim.
