Edward E. "Gene" Boggs, 81, of Brownstown, IL, died on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC in Vandalia, IL. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL with Rev. Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will be in Nichols/Nickels Cemetery, in Rural Brownstown, IL. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Donors Choice. Gene was born on April 20, 1930, in Fayette County, IL, the son of Edward Michael and Rilla Oletha (Jeffs) Boggs. He married Carolee Carson on May 12, 1951 in Vandalia, IL. He is a retired Machanic-Owner/Operator of Boggs Garage in Vandalia, IL and a member of Quail Unlimited & St. Peter Sportsmans Club. He is survived by wife, Carolee Boggs 2 Sons: Mike Boggs & Lynn & Mark Boggs, all of Brownstown, IL; 1Daughter: Mindy Meseke & David of Vandalia, IL; 1 Sister: Ethel Augenstein of Vandalia, IL 6 Grandchildren: Rebecca Gene, Megan, Amos, Matt, Scott & Calvin and 5 Great Grandchildren: Kendal, Kenden, Kennedy, Jacob & Kaden. Preceded in death by Parents, 5 Brothers, Ray, Louis, Roy, Hugh & Carl and 1 Sister, Wilma.
