Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Rev. Joe Lawson, officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Centralia, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Saturday, April 22, 2017 *before service, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Crawford-Hale Post #95, American Legion.

He was born January 27, 1942, in Marion County, IL, the son of Louie Edwin & Anna Gladys (Sloan) Tate. He was a retired employee for Woolsey Brothers Farm Supply, Vandalia, IL; a US Army Veteran, during Vietnam and member of Crawford-Hale Post # 95 American Legion, Vandalia, IL.

He is survived by: Sister - Sharon Cresta & Daniel, Clarendon Hills, IL; Nephew - Greg Cresta & Teri, New Castle, WA; Niece - Sheryl Cresta & Joseph DeSantis, Elgin, IL; Great Nephew & Nieces - Rachel, Keli & Blake

Preceded in death by: Parents; 3 half-brothers; and 1 half-sister.
