Franklin "Gene" E. Terry, 85, of Vandalia, Illinois, formerly of Brownstown, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, at Vandalia Rehab & Health Care Ctr., Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Hagarstown Baptist Church, Hagarstown, IL, with Pastor Loren File and Rev. Murphy Terry, officiating. Burial will follow at South Hill/Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the church. Memorials: Salvation Army and/or American Legion Post #95, Vandalia.

He was born March 10, 1933, in Vandalia, IL, the son of William Bergen & Clester (Hopkins) Terry. Married Sadie Normalee Willson June 25, 1954, Brownstown, IL, she passed away October 4, 2015. He was a retired Owner/Manager of Long John Silvers Chain; and US Army Veteran.

He is survived by: Daughters - Cassandra Crawford, Orlando, FL and Patricia Gribbins & Tom, Clinton, IL; Brothers - Dr. John Terry, Siloam Springs, AR and Rev. Murphy Terry & Linda, Staunton, VA; Sister - Brenda Kay Smith & Dale, Cape Coral, FL; 9 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and Brother-in-law - Dick Paul, Vandalia, IL.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Wife; Son - Franklin Terry, Jr.; 2 Brothers; 3 Sisters.
