Evelyn M. Ledbetter, 77, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC in Vandalia, IL.

She was born March 27, 1943, in Sumner, IL, the daughter of Raymond T. & Esther Marie (Moran) Hayes. Married Charles Franklin Ledbetter on January 7, 1968, Brownstown, IL, he passed away November 17, 2018. She was a retired teacher having taught at several area elementary schools; taught adult illiteracy at Graham Correctional Center; CEFS; and worked at Ledbetter Apparel, Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Son - Steven Ledbetter & Lisha, Vandalia, IL; Daughter - Becky Welker & Rick, Havana, IL; Brothers - Jack Hayes & Pat, Olney, IL, Bob Hayes & Dee, Bridgeport, IL, Jim Hayes & Sara, Flora, IL, and Mike Hayes & Sheila, Sumner, IL; Sisters - Thelma Piper & Dan, Bridgeport, IL, Ellen Mortenson & Chuck, Midwest, WY, and Kathy Slichenmyer, Olney, IL; Grandchildren - Colin & Madison Ledbetter, Justin Roach & McKenzie, and Devon Roach; and Great Grandchildren - Haisley & Amelia Roach.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Brother - Kenny; and Sister - Delores Cummings.
