He was born July 1, 1930, in Loogootee, IL, the son of Elvin William & Neda C. (Stolte) Pontious. Married Joanne Elizabeth Caraker June 20, 1954, in Vandalia, IL. He was Owner/Operator of Bud's Barber Shop, Vandalia, IL; Member of Unity Baptist Church, and was a US Air Force Veteran.

He is survived by: Wife - Joanne Pontious, Vandalia, IL; Daughter - Jan Meyers, Ramsey, IL; Grandchildren - Drew Meyers & Shelli and Megan Reiss & Kyle; Great Grandchildren - Garrett, Corbin & Kale; Brother - Ronnie Pontious & Sue, Arlington Heights, IL; Sisters - Doris Duckworth & Charles, Fairfield, IL and Jane Miller, Brownstown, IL.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Son - David Pontious; Sister - Betty Combs.
