Eldon E. "Gene" Daniels, 83, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at SBL Fayette County Hospital LTC in Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 31, 2023, at First Baptist Church, Ramsey, IL, with Pastor Jeff Shouse officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the church in Ramsey, IL. Gene was born November 1, 1939, in Ramsey, IL, the son of George William & Bessie Selina (Hunter) Daniels. He married Beverly Pope on May 11, 1960, in Ramsey, IL. He worked as Owner & Operator of Culligan Water Conditioning, Vandalia, IL and was a retired VCC Industries truck driver; was a member of First Baptist Church Ramsey, IL.

He is survived by: Wife - Beverly Daniels, Vandalia, IL; Sons - Mike Daniels & Margie, Vandalia, IL and Mark Daniels & Michelle, Columbia, IL; Daughter - Cindi Lotz & John, St. Peter, IL; Grandchildren - Brandy Tidwell & Cory Braun, Vandalia, IL, Jessica Oye & Pete, Bellevue IA, Braiden Pryor & Jade, Vandalia, IL, Jenny Daniels & Mark Ruble, Vandalia, IL, Carissa Snow & Andrew, Sigel, IL, McKenzie Daniels & Tyler Graham, Waterloo, IL, and Mitchell Daniels, Columbia, IL; 13 Great Grandchildren; Brother - Jim Daniels, Bloomington, IL; Sisters-in-law - Carol England & Jim, Ramsey, IL and Sue Boaz & Dean, Huntingburg, IN; Brother-in-law - Max Pope & Paula, Willowbrook, IL; Several Nieces & Nephews.
