Duane E. Luallen, 88, of Vandalia, IL, died on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC in Vandalia, IL. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 13, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL with Dr. Roger Grimmett and Rev. Dan Rush officiating. Burial will be in McInturff Cemetery, in Rural Vandalia, IL with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2011 and one hour before the service on Sunday, both at First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL. Duane was born on May 5, 1923, in Medicine Lodge, KS, the son of Doyle E. and Bertha Mae (Hamilton) Luallen. He married Betty Anne Joines on April 7, 1947 in Salem, IL. He was a retired C.P.A and former owner/operator of Luallen, Cearlock, Barth & Burnam Ltd. Duane was a member of First United Methodist Church; 60 year member of Temperance Lodge #16 A.F. & A.M.; York Rites Bodies; Eastern Star; Crawford-Hale Post #95 American Legion; Past President Vandalia Rotary (Paul Harris Fellow) & Chamber of Commerce; former City Treasurer all of Vandalia, IL ; Past State Pres. of I.A.A.I.; member of Illinois Society of C.P.A; American Institue of Certified Public Accountants; N.S.A and a W.W. II Navy Veteran. He is survived by wife, Betty Luallen of Vandalia, IL; 1 Son: Scott Luallen & Donna, Odin, IL; 1Daughter: Beth Hoffman & Kent, Vandalia, IL; 6 Grandchildren: Justin, Megan, Erin, Wes, Lynn & Jacob; 4 Great Grandchildren: Bronwyn, Shade, Kalli & Teeghen; 1 Sister: Velda Rae Barber, Blackwell, OK Preceded in death by his Parents.
