Dorothy L. Mefford, 81, of Shobonier, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, in Fayette County Hospital, Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, Illinois, with Pastor Terry Westerfield, officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2019, at the church. Memorials: Friends & Families of Fayette County Hospital and/or First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL.

She was born January 2, 1938, in Yale, IL, the daughter of Willard Lemual & Beulah Violet (Bates) Robinson. Married LaVerne "Bud" Nelson Mefford April 17, 1954, Robinson, IL. Dorothy was retired from First Bank, Vandalia, IL, where she was a new accounts rep and receptionist; A member of First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Husband - Bud Mefford, Shobonier, IL; Sons - Doug Mefford & Janette, Robinson, IL and Jeff Mefford & Toni, Effingham, IL; Daughters - Debbie Sturm & Robert, Robinson, IL and Pam Younker, Collinsville, IL; Grandchildren - Pam, Kara, Laura, Mandy, Jamie, Bobbi Jo, Tyler, Tahnee, McKenzie, Ryan and Taylor; 19 Great Grandchildren; Brothers - Charles Robinson, Tuscola, IL and Dick Robinson & Linda, Effingham, IL; and Sister - Clara Henderson, Champaign, IL.
