Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday, May 13, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: St. James Lutheran Church Building Fund, Vandalia, IL and or Shriners Hospitals for Children. She was born May 09, 1924, in West Salem, IL, the daughter of Elmer I. Harrison & Kathryn (Provine) Harrison. She married James E. Lackey, Jr. on December 05, 1947, Newton, IL. Doris was a retired 3rd Grade Elementary Teacher for the Vandalia School System for 33 years; Member of American Legion Auxiliary Crawford-Hale Post #95; 8 & 40; Retired Teacher Association; and St. James Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL. She is survived by: Husband, Jim, Vandalia, IL; Sons: Joe Lackey and Deborah, Washougal, WA and Jack Lackey, Vandalia, IL; and 2 Grandchildren, Janet & Jason. Preceded in death by: Parents; 1 Sister.
