Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Rural Fillmore, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, before Service, Saturday, April 23, 2016, at Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL and/or Fayette County Cancer Fund.

She was born August 23, 1948, Port Jackson, IL, the daughter of Glen Lawrence & Mildred Virginia (Dunlap) Hess. Married John Henry Swain on September 20, 1969, Robinson, IL. She was a Nurse Practitioner @ Greenville Medical Associates, Greenville, IL and was a Member of Bethel Baptist Church, Rural Vandalia, IL.

She is survived by: Husband - John Swain, Vandalia, IL; Sons - Johnny Swain & Danielle and Brian Swain & Heather, all of Vandalia; Daughter - Michelle Holman & Eric, Vandalia, IL; Brother - Jeff Hess & Debbie, Robinson, IL; Sisters - Dee Wampler & Gary, Robinson, IL and Peg Brashear, Flat Rock, IL; Grandchildren - Ashley, Kelsey, Lexie, Tanner, Kaylin, Breann & Alisha.
