Donald P. Bennyhoff, 94, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, January 03, 2014, at Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care, Vandalia, IL. Services will be held at 10:00 AM , Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, , with Dr. Roger Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. No visitation. Memorials: First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL. He was born November 17, 1919, the son of Gary M. & Gertrude (Eakin) Bennyhoff. Married Marjorie E. Denton, April 18, 1943, Litchfield, IL, she passed away December 7, 2010. Don retired after 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service. World War II Army Veteran/Ambulance Driver 345, a member of First United Methodist Church and Crawford Hale Post # 95 American Legion both of Vandalia, IL. and a 1938 graduate of Vandalia Community High School. Survived by: Son - Bruce Bennyhoff & Bonnie , Saline, MI; Daughters - Paula Reliford & Clete, Pleasant Plains, IL and Jill Zimmer & Charles "Bud" , Vandalia, IL. Grandchildren - Brian Bennyhoff, Rochester, MI; Dawn Bennyhoff, Farmers Branch, TX; Sara Otey & Steven, Manchester. MO; John Zimmer & Caylee, Vandalia, IL; Kyle Reliford & Stacy, Kirkwood, IL; Emily Whitson & Joe, Mackinaw, IL and Brittany Reliford, Orlando, FL: Great Grandchildren - Lauren, Megan, Hannah & Katelyn Otey; Katherine (Katie) & Haden Whitson and Elise & Jack Reliford. Preceded in death by: His Parents, Wife, Brother - Floyd Bennyhoff, 2 Sisters- Edna Kober & Ruby Sills and Grandson - Paul Zimmer.
