Dean Roberts, 94, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2020, in Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Harry Kirk, officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery, Bingham, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at the First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL, and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday, at the church. He was born August 11, 1925, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Trove Gilbert & Zula Caroline (Stockdale) Roberts. Married Claudine Patsy Richardson, May 17, 1947, Vandalia, IL. He worked at Farm Service for 26 years, retiring in 1976; was a former Mycogen Seed salesman; Farmer; U.S. Army Paratrooper, World War II Veteran; Member of Fayette Co. Farm Bureau; and was affiliated with Liberty Church, Bingham, IL. Dean loved hunting, sports and his family.

He is survived by: Wife - Pat Roberts, Vandalia, IL; Sons - David Roberts & Judy and Kenny Roberts & Kathy, all of Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Sue Roberts, Ramsey, IL, Cindy Laramee & Alan and Heidi Cade & Rich, all of Vandalia, IL; Brother - Jim Roberts & Jean, Greenville, IL; Sisters - Marion Shroyer & Phil, Vandalia, IL and Zola Sturgill, Shelbyville, IL; 7 Grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great Great Grandchild.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Brothers - Carl, Warren, Larry & Jack; and Sisters - Leatha and Lorenne.
