David M. Summers, 58, of Altamont, Illinois, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

David was born September 28, 1964, in Vandalia, IL, the son of James H. "Frank" & C. Berneice (Steiling) Summers. He married Tonda Purcell on April 2, 1988. He worked as a Welder for Irwin Telescopic Seating, Altamont, IL; graduated VCHS in 1982; enjoyed riding his Harley and rode with the Patriot Guard for several years, hunting, spoiling his nieces and nephews, and hugging his family and friends.

He is survived by: Spouse - Tonda (Purcell) Summers, Altamont, IL; Son - Jerod Summers & Nicki Scott and her kids, Dakota & Allen, Altamont, IL; Brother - Ed Hubbartt, Effingham, IL; Sisters- Marsha Hipsher, Vandalia, IL, Janet Alsbury, Vandalia, IL, Mary Sidwell, Herrin, IL, Alice Miles, Vandalia, IL, and Gloria Sprague & Carl, Shobonier, IL; Numerous Nieces & Nephews; Great and Great Great Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Sister - Maxine Crager; Brothers - Jim Summers, Jerry Summers, Jack Summers, and Allen Richards.
