David A. Riegel, 82, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL.

He was born September 6, 1942, in Reading, PA, the son of James A. & Mildred M. (Adams) Riegel. He married Linda J. Faller in 1965 in Reading, PA. David completed his undergrad and master's degrees at Penn State University. He worked for the correctional center as an assistant warden. He served his country in the United States Army. David also served on various boards in the community including FAYCO, Library and Police Boards. He enjoyed reading and hunting for turkey and deer.

He is survived by: Wife - Linda Riegel; Daughter - Kira Palmer & Chris; Son-In-Law - Brian Yunker; Grandchildren - Adam Palmer, Alli Palmer, Madeline Yunker, and Max Yunker; Nephews - Michael & Roger Riegel.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Daughter - Kristin Yunker; Brother - Jack Riegel.
