Obituary
Darel M. Hayes, 94, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, May 05, 2016, at Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL, with Rev's. Loren File and Robert Weaver, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL. Memorials: Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL.
He was born October 02, 1921, in Ramsey, IL, the son of Rev. Frank Marion & Ada (Rhoades) Hayes. Married Mary Frances Paddock on July 23, 1940, St. Louis, Mo. He was a retired Farmer; Heavy Equipment Operator; Member of Temple/Unity Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL. As a hobby, he trained Bird Dogs and participated in field trails, winning many trophies.
He is survived by: Wife - Mary Hayes, Vandalia, IL; Daughters - Connie Grether, Vandalia, IL, Patty Smith & Dick, Carterville, IL and Jessica Peyton & David, Vandalia, IL; 16 Grandchildren; 31 Great Grandchildren; 21Great Great Grandchildren; and Daughter-in-law - Mary Hayes, Concord, NC.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Son - Frankie Hayes 2015; 1 Brother; 5 Sisters; 1 Grandson - Scott.
