Darcey Danielle DePaolo, 25, of Effingham, Illinois, formerly of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at her home in Effingham, IL.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, on Saturday, 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She was born March 28, 1996, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Robert Thomas Jr. & Priscilla Gail (Lee) DePaolo. Darcey was a free spirit whose kindness touched the lives of many. She was very creative in arts and crafts and loved traveling and exploring. Darcey also had a love for plants and flowers. She was an aspiring horticulturist, studying at Lakeland College. She loved her family very much. and especially enjoyed spending time with her niece Delta and nephew Todd. Darcey was a member of First United Methodist Church, Vandalia, IL. She will truly be missed by all of her family and friends.

Darcey is survived by her parents, Bob DePaolo, Jr. and Gail of Vandalia, IL; brothers, Tom DePaolo and wife Julie and Nick DePaolo and wife Jenna all of Vandalia, IL; nieces, Anna and Delta DePaolo and nephew, Todd DePaolo all of Vandalia, IL; paternal grandparents, Robert DePaolo, Sr. and wife Carol of Vandalia, IL; and special friend, Kennedy Brummerstedt of Effingham, IL.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Donna Lee.
