Craig Leroy Hart, age 76, of Vandalia, IL passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at his home.

He was born October 22, 1949 in St. Louis, MO, the son of Leroy and Delores (Fortuna) Hart. He married Carolyn Allgire on September 9, 1972 at the Religious Center at SIUE in Edwardsville, IL. Craig's greatest love was teaching. He worked as a teacher and guidance counselor at Vandalia High School, and also taught at Kaskaskia College. He enjoyed fishing, and liked to go trout fishing in Missouri. He also enjoyed gardening and dying wool and yarn.

Craig is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hart of Vandalia; brother, Randy (Patti) Hart of Troy, IL; nieces, Christy Hart and Lisa (Justin) Detmer; brothers-in-law, Jim (Jan) Allgire and Richard (Alice) Allgire; nieces and nephew; and great nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Delores Hart.
