Christopher "Coty" Childerson, 28, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia, IL.

Services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Pete LeDuc, officiating. Private burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL with Vandalia Correctional Center Honor Guard. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue, and/or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

He was born August 17, 1989, in Greenville, IL, the son of Thomas Edward & Samantha Marie (Frailey) Childerson-Hawk. Coty was a Correctional Officer at Vandalia Correctional Center.

He is survived by: Mother - Samantha Hawk & Jim, Vandalia, IL; Half Brother - Michael Childerson and Half-Sister - Michelle Childerson, both of Greenville, IL; Maternal Grandmother - Imogene Frailey, Vandalia, IL; and several Uncles, Aunts & Cousins.

Preceded in death by: Father; Maternal Grandfather - Gerald Frailey; Paternal Grandparents - Joann Bunyard and Elvin Childerson.
