Carolyn Ann Trotter, age 83 of Vandalia, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at her home. 

She was born January 19, 1943 in East St. Louis, IL, the daughter of Elmer John and Albertine "Minnie" (Whetsell) Krause. She married Don Carlos Trotter on April 7, 1962 in East St. Louis, IL. He passed away on December 28, 2000. Carolyn was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending her days raising her children. She loved spending time with her family, spoiling her grandchildren, and she loved animals. 

Carolyn is survived by her children, Janice Trotter, Donna Trotter, Kenneth Trotter, and Phillip Trotter; grandchildren, Darlene Forbes and Dillon Robinett; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; and two sisters, Sandy Meyer and Madonna Braxmeier.
