Carl "Curtis" Hopwood 72 of Fillmore, IL passed away at his residence on January 11, 2013 at 4:15 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore, IL, with the Revs. John Walsh, Ernest Flowers, Myron Kirk and Harry Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore, IL. Visitation will be Monday January 14, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. and 1 hour before service on Tuesday at Grace Fellowship Church in Fillmore. In lieu of flowers memorial may be made Glendale Cemetery General Fund, Montgomery County Cancer Association, Fillmore United Methodist Church. He married Braunda (Hanner) Lemons on May 3, 1980 in Fillmore, IL. He was a life-long farmer and a member of Fillmore United Methodist Church. He was also embraced by Grace Fellowship Church and served in the National Guard from 1960 to 1966 and on numerous boards including Extension Counsel, FSA Board, Farm Bureau Board, Glendale Cemetery Board, Montgomery County Ambulance Board, Nokomis Farmers Mutual Insurance Board, Fillmore Township Board, Fillmore United Methodist Church Board and Nokomis Community School Board. He is survived by his Wife: Braunda Hopwood, Fillmore, IL; Daughter: Tracey (husband Jeff) Campbell of Garland Texas; Son: Tim (wife Lori) Hopwood of Fillmore; Stepson: Todd (wife Norma) Lemons of Bloomsdale, Missouri; Grandchildren: Sarah Johnson, Holly (husband Rob) Lemons, Jeremiah (fiancée' Lana Bertinetti) Johnson, Heather (husband Daniel) Adams, Heidi Hopwood, Johanna Reagan, Hope Hopwood, TJ Hopwood, & Asa & Julia Lemons; Step Grandchildren: Amber (Jeff) Saathoff, Josh (Emily) Ott, Jacob Ott, Andrew Ott, Cindy (fiancé' Joe Willis) Campbell, and Brandon Campbell; Great Grandchildren: Maui Lemons and Lanie Bray; Step Great Grandchildren: Tess Saathoff, Alan Satterlee, Jackson Ott, Logan Ott, and Brody & Lexy Willis; Sister: Sharon (husband Gerald) Brown, Ramsey, IL and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
