Burl D. Prater, 75, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2020, in an auto accident, in Vandalia, IL.

He was born March 3, 1945, in Vandalia, IL, the son of Grover & Bertha Mae (Hastings) Prater. He was affiliated with Centerpointe Church, Vandalia, IL.
He is survived by: Daughters - Melissa D. Prater, Moulton, AL and Deana J. Prater, Elkmont, AL; Son - Jeffrey D. Prater, Decatur, AL; 6 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; Twin Sister - Jeannie Cole, Farmington, MO; and Special Friend - Patricia Bales, Vandalia, IL.
Preceded in death by: Parents; 1 Brother; and 2 Sisters.
