Brenda Sue McKinney, 73, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2022, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 2 hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL at a later date. She was born October 27, 1949, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Millard E. & Anne L. (Brannon) Lape. She married Melvin C. McKinney on October 1, 1977, Vandalia, IL. She was acook for the Vandalia School District where she enjoyed serving kidsfor many years, attended First Church of God, and was a member of the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by: Husband - Melvin C. McKinney, Vandalia, IL; Sons - Brian Bayles & Lisa, Van Burensburg, IL, Brent Bayles & Abby, Vandalia, IL, and Dustin McKinney & Tammy, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Danielle Reavis, Brent Nobbe, Samantha Staff, Morgan Cripe, Ryan Bayles, Haley Cannon, Ethan Bayles, Katlyn McKinney, Dawson McKinney, and Eric McKinney; 7 Great Grandchildren; Brother - Butch Lape & Lucretia, Vandalia, IL; Sister - Milann Parke & Steve, Waco, TX., and several nephews and nieces.
