He was Co-Owner/Operator Michel's Feed Store for 40 years; US Army Veteran 54-56; Member of Crawford-Hale Post # 95 American Legion, Vandalia, IL; Holy Cross Lutheran Church; Chairman-Fayette County Blood Bank-13 Gallon Donor; VCHS Hall of Fame; and was a Scorekeeper-Basketball and Chain Gang-Football, both for many years. He is survived by: Wife - Martha Michel, Vandalia, IL; Son - Tim Michel & Jamie, Vandalia, IL; Daughter - Peggy Salmon & Myron, Mattoon, IL; Brother - Dan Michel & Linda, Vandalia, IL; Sister-in-law - Elaine Michel; and Grandchildren - Amy, Ryan & Lisa, Kara & Marc, Olivia & Jacob, Elias & Haley and Adeline.
