Billie Leon Carlock, age 93 of Fillmore, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at his residence in Fillmore, IL surrounded by family.
He was born April 18, 1933 the son of Irving "Leon" Carlock and Ruth (Towell) Carlock in Montgomery County, IL. After graduating from high school, Billie joined the Army. He honorably served his country during the Korean war. He married his wife; Darlene (Lipe) Carlock on March 28, 1956 in Hillsboro, IL. They shared 70 lovely years of marriage together.
The Carlock family has lost its patriarch, but he was so much more than that. He'll definitely be remembered for that smile and that orneriness that he just couldn't help showing. He truly was a blessing and personified the saying "Not all heroes wear capes ". Billie will be remembered for all the lessons, advice, swift kicks in the rear, humbleness, toughness, friendship, mentorship, storytelling, and much more. He was definitely one of a kind and very much irreplaceable.
He started farming with a horse and plow at the age of 9 and ended in a combine at about the age of 90 because he could no longer climb up in it. Billie was an extremely dedicated worker. Aside from farming, he also worked in construction for many years with the local 1084. Outside of work he was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending his time reading.
He was a man that would give you the shirt off his back and be there no matter what. He was a man's man but had a side that when you were down would put one of those big hands on your back and say it's going to be ok. He was a devout Christian and family man that will be greatly missed. God definitely gained a one-of-a-kind angel.
He is survived by his wife; Darlene Carlock of Fillmore, IL, his sons; Mark (Catherine) Carlock of Fillmore, IL, and Brian Carlock of Nokomis, IL, his grandchildren; Lainie (Mike) McNary, Mark (Jennifer) Carlock, Lydon (Jess) Carlock, Dustin Carlock, Ethan (Payton) Carlock, Keith (Marissa) Carlock, Jesse (Selena) Carlock, and Blaine and Destiney, 16 great grandchildren, and his sister; Betty Malloy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son; Steve Carlock, his siblings; Floyd Carlock and Evelyn DeViney.
A visitation will be held Sunday, October 25, 2026 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, IL, as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday. The funeral will be held Monday, October 26, 2026 at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Bob Morgason. A burial will follow the services at the Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore, IL.
