Berthel Edward Cunningham, 70, of Beecher City, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023, at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the funeral home, one and a half hours prior to the service. Memorials: Second Chance Animal Rescue. He was born October 2, 1952, in Vandalia, IL. He married Patricia M. "Patty" Bolyard on April 30, 1972, in Vandalia, IL. He worked construction; was a retired truck driver; and served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era.

He is survived by: Wife - Patty M. Cunningham, Beecher City, IL; Son - Jim Cunningham & Gayle, Decatur, IL; Grandchildren - Abby Baker & Devin and Chelsea Cunningham; Great Grandchildren - Enzliegh Ray Baker, Knox Lee Baker, and one on the way; Sister - Hazel Hurt, Charleston, IL.
