Barbara Jean Cade, 83, of Ramsey, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Rural Ramsey, IL with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers and other gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Miller Funeral Home, Ramsey, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 22, 1941, in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Rufus & Sarah French. She later was raised by Lee & Ina Summerlott. She married Thomas Richard Cade on June 3, 1962, in Pana, IL. He passed on March 12, 2007. She worked as a caregiver for several years and was a member of Bayle City Baptist Church. She loved cardinals, both the birds and the baseball team, and enjoyed seeing the hummingbirds in the spring. She loved cooking and enjoyed reading to the kids at the Ramsey school.

Survived by: Son - Rich Cade & Heidi, Vandalia, IL; Son-in-law - Kevin Schackmann, Ramsey, IL; Grandchildren - Danny, Dale, Dustin, Madeline, Deveraux, Constance, and Cade; Great Grandchildren - Samantha, Colton, Blake, Boston, Prudence, Lorelai, Emma, Andrew, and Kinley; Great Great Grandchildren - Luna, Ardi, Theodore, and Magnolia; Sister - Sandy Sloan, Clinton, IL.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Daughters - Tammy Schackmann and Jan Cade; Brothers - Benny French, Clifford French, Steve French, Don French, and Jack Summerlott; Sisters - Hazel Sandburg, Karen Sweeny, and Joy Leach.
