B. Lenora "Lee" Kern, 88, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2023, at SBL Fayette County Hospital LTC in Vandalia, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Bethel Baptist Church, Vandalia, IL with Pastor Joe Lawson and Rev. Ben Foxworth officiating. Burial will be at Taylor Cemetery, RFD Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, three hours prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to: SBL Fayette County Hospital LTC, Bethel Baptist Church, and/or Woburn Baptist Church. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, is in charge of arrangements. She was born July 21, 1935, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Chester & Cora Emma Mildred (Hoover) Stoneburner. She married Morris Carl Kern on October 30, 1955, in Vandalia, IL. He passed on February 13, 2016. She worked as an administrative assistant at Carlisle Syn Tec Rubber Co. & Greenville College; was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and in earlier years, Woburn Baptist Church.

She is survived by: Son - Steve Kern & Teri, Iuka, IL; Daughter - Cherylee Bridges & Sam, Rochester, IL; Grandchildren - Rebecca Zinzilieta & Ross and Jason Williams; Great Grandchildren - Maxwell, Drystan, Alex, Lexie, Rylee, Josiah, and Cisylee; 2 Nephews and 1 Niece.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Grandchildren - Emylee, Benjamin, and Josh; and Brother - Leroy.
