Audrey F. Halford Carriker Probst, Fillmore, IL Audrey passed away, July 28, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. She was born May 15, 1918 in Bingham, IL, the daughter of James Aaron and Olive "Ollie" Ludema (Fisher) Halford. Funeral service will be 7:00 pm, Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Miller Funeral Home in Fillmore, IL with Rev. John Walsh, officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery at 5:00 pm on Friday, August 1, 2014. Married Robert Edward Carriker May 14, 1940 in Troy, MO, he passed away April 4, 1941. Later married, Cpl. Denver Wade Probst on December 31, 1942 in St. Louis, MO, he passed away July 1, 2005. She was a retired school teacher of 35 years. The last 26 years were at Nokomis Unit # 22. Graduated from Greenville High School in the class of 1936 and later graduated from Greenville College. Audrey was also a farm wife, a member of the Retired Teachers Association, local, state and national; Home Extension; Business and Professional Women's Club; Farm Bureau Women's Committee; D.A.R.; several genealogical groups; Halford Chapel Free Methodist Church; later the Canaan Chapel Church of God, rural Bingham, IL and United Methodist Women of Fillmore, IL. Her hobbies included raising prize gladiolas and taking them to church (At one time she had over 250 different varieties), reading and recording cemetery stone inscriptions and family and local history. Surviving are: Son-Carl Edwin Probst & Cheryl, Nokomis, IL; Son In-law- Howard Drake; Sister In-law- Evelyn Probst, Ramsey, IL; Brother in-law; Paul R. Probst & Maydella, Bingham, IL. 6 Grandchildren - Scott Drake & Jana, Germany, Greg Drake & Michelle & Shawna Drake Sweeney & Michael, all of Charleston, IL, Christy (Probst) Beechler, Litchfield, IL, Carrie (Probst) Schaake & John, Hillsboro, IL and Craig Probst & Lisa, Fillmore, IL. 20 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by; parents, husbands, 2 brothers- Virgil Everett Halford in November 1960 and Warren Melton Halford in February 1996, Daughter: Norma Jean Drake December 7, 2005.
