Arlen D. Ballance, 60, of Lebanon, KY, formerly of Vandalia, IL, died on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, KY. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 27, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL with Rev. Louis Frick officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery, in Vernon, IL with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL Memorials: Vernon and/or Magassi Cemeteries. Arlen was born on June 24, 1952, in Centralia, IL, the son of Lyle Leon and Mary Josephine (Lincicum) Ballance. He married Anita L. (Meador) Caudle on September 15, 2001 in Leavenworth, KS. He was a retired Computer Program Designer, a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, Lebanon, KY, and Patoka American Legion and a U.S. Air force Veteran. He is survived by Wife: Anita Ballance of Lebanon, KY; Children: Mary Alice Ballance-Wiechman & Husband, Daniel Husted of O'Fallon, IL, Marla Quigley & Patrick of KS, Martin Knecht of OK; Father: Lyle L. Ballance Sr. of Vandalia, IL; Brother: Lyle L. Ballance Jr & Wife, Polly of Moreno Valley, CA; Grandchildren: Dominique, Bacchus, Zachary & Colton; Nephew: Scott & Darra Ballance & son Alexander of Evans, GA. He is preceded in death by his Mother and Nephew: Adam Ballance.
