Alice Jayne Thorpe, 76, of Effingham, Illinois, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Lakeland Rehab & Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Joe Lawson officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery, Vernon, IL. She was born December 1, 1946, in Pennsylvania, the daughter of Darl Eugene & Kathryn Marie (Kubina) McElroy. She married Edwin L. "Toad" Thorpe on January 11, 1969. He preceded her in death on August 3, 2009. She worked as a CNA and LPN and was affiliated with the Catholic Faith.

She is survived by: Sons - Eddie Thorpe, Patoka, IL and Toby Thorpe, Corpus Christi, TX; Daughter - Mary Ishum & Leroy, Brownstown, IL; 9 Grandchildren; 17 Great Grandchildren; Brother - Jim McElroy & Wilma, Effingham, IL; Sister - Georgette Medcalf & J.W., Brownwood, TX.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Daughter - Nickie; Brother - Dink and Billy; Sister - Betsy; Cousin - Mary McFarland.
