Rita J. Stevenson, 67, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

She was born, June 2, 1950, in Vandalia, IL, the daughter of Dale Leon & Geneva Elnora Marie (Drewes) Porter. Married Carl Gatewood, later married Wayne A. Stevenson, he passed away. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Vandalia, IL.
Survived by: Mother - Geneva Porter, Altamont, IL; Sons- Kerry Gatewood, Quincy, IL and Andy Gatewood, Vandalia, IL; Daughter - Mary Stevenson & Special Friend, Charles Gifford, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Makayla, Charles, Cydney and Kaiden; Brothers - Dale Porter Jr. & Pat, Alabama, Terry Porter, Vandalia, IL, Larry "Butch" Porter, Alabama; Sisters - Sharon Davis & Mike, Brownstown, IL, Mary Maske & James, St. Peter, IL and Barb Tompkins, Vandalia, IL.
Preceded in death by: Father; Son - Kevin, 1994; 2 Sisters - Lori Work and Peggy LaPointe.
