Betty R. Cothern, 93, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Fayette Co. Hospital, LTC, Vandalia, IL.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 23, 2018, prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials: First Christian Church, Vandalia, IL and/or Liberty Church, Bingham, IL.
She was born March 8, 1925, in Ramsey, IL, the daughter of Joe Lincoln & Ethel Sadie (Furry) Womack. Married Charles Edward Cothern April 25, 1941, St. Charles, MO, he passed away October 22, 2010. She was a homemaker and member of First Christian Church, Vandalia and former member of Ramsey Christian Church.
She is survived by: Son - Jim Cothern, Tampa, FL; Daughters - Jan Eckhardt & Dick, Altamont, IL, Robin Kistler & Kent, Vandalia, IL and Jodi Harris & Terry, Mason, IL; Grandchildren - Ryan, Dustin, Heidi, Shane, Eryn, Bryce, Steffen & Kirstie; Great Grandchildren - Olivia, Younger, Hannah, Mitchell, Cortland, Cole, Hudson, Miranda, Ella, Alayna, Brylee, Kortland, Emma, Liam, Andey Grace, Carlee and one on the way.
Preceded in death by: Parents; Husband; Brother - Joe Womack Jr.; and Sister - Helen Koehler.
