Arthur "Art" L. Foster, 82, of Vandalia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2019, in St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Doug Wodtka, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery, Vandalia, IL, with Military Rites. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the funeral home. He was born August 28, 1936, in Rockport, IL, the son of Walter Elea & Rebecca Pearl (Myers) Foster. Married Weong "Kay" Ye Choi on January 8, 1958, in Kobi, Japan. He was retired from Vandalia Correctional Center; US Army Veteran and member of American Legion Post #95, Vandalia, IL.  Art loved to hunt and fish, gardening but most of all his family.

He is survived by: Sons - Bill Foster & Cheryl, Vandalia, IL and Bob Foster, Aurora, CO; Daughter - Cynthia Wilson & Rollin, Vandalia, IL; Grandchildren - Christopher Foster, Tracee Largent & Tim, Alexander, Shelby Foster; Great Grandchildren - Jase and Jenner Largent; Brother - Richard Foster & Amy, Dunnellon, FL; Sisters - Joann Walker & Junior, New Canton, IL and Sherry Meyers, Barry, IL; and Sister-in-law - Emma Foster, Barry, IL.

Preceded in death by: Parents; Wife; Brothers - Bill, Lee & Paul Foster; and Sisters - Jean and Marie.
