Alva K. Burton, 78, of Shobonier, IL, died on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at his home.

Memorial Services will be held at 6:30 PM, Monday, October 15, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL, with Pastor Doug Wodtka officiating. Visitation will be from 5:30 - 6:30 PM before the service on Monday. Burial at a later date in Indiana

He was born on September 29, 1934, in Franklin, IN., the son of Gordon Harvey and Ruby (Burton) Burton. He married Norma J. Coy on July 11, 1953 in Columbus, IN. She passed away March 7, 2005. Alva was a retired autotech repairman for Cannon Buick, Lakeland, FL,; enjoyed Nascar races, auctions, flea markets, basketball and baseball games and was affiliated with Pentecostal Faith.

He is survived by Daughters: Dianna Helton and Edward, Shobonier, IL; Lorraine Sluder and Randy, Edinburgh, IN and Dana Jackson & Mark, Shobonier, IL Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by Parents; Wife; daughter, Debbie Marie.
